Book of Mormon Chart

Last week at church our Bishop challenged us to read the Book of Mormon by June 29th and then we are going to have some kind of big party.  I went on line to find some charts and got some really fun ideas.  Then I decided I wanted to personalize it so... don't act too surprised at this... but I really had fun creating this.

He can color in the mosaic tile after he reads each chapter. He is such a determined little guy - give him a challenge and he is all over it. That is 4.1 pages a day but I have no doubt he will make it. And since his birthday is the 28th of June, he chose that day instead of the 29th. Way to go, Kamren Ty!

Oh my - now I am going to become obsessed with this - this mornings creation:

Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks. I am ready for spring, but ya gotta admit - there is something magical about winter landscapes... Enjoy!

GOIN' INCOGNITO!

So you know how wild church is here at Bear Lake in the summer... You never know what to expect from the visitors... Shorts, levis, flip flops, cell phones, sun glasses... etc.  I have now decided to join in with their casual attire and will look like this for church tomorrow:
I kinda like the casual, cool look here...

And it sure beats this one:

My Jilly Jill neice got married this morning and I was supposed to meet the fam at the Temple at 9:00... Instead, I became a victim of domestic violence/spouse abuse.  JK! Long story short, slipped on ice in driveway and was the receipiant of three stitches courtesy of Doc DJ.  I told him he should take up quilting in his spare time - such nice even stitches.  Luckily, NO concussion this time; but I am starting to wonder just how accident prone I am OR if it is old age starting to set in.  Oh please, not that.  So I missed the Temple but made the ceremony and lunch... What a day! Maybe if I put lots of crooked, blue eyeshadow on the other eye, no one will notice at church...

Hope your day was better than mine!

KAMREN TY!!!

Since I am so far behind in blogging, I am going to hi-lite each kid and then get on to the present. KAM gets to be first:

Last week was the pinewood derby. He decided he wanted to shape his car like a pencil and name it "E"racer. It looked pretty good, but we soon found out looks aren't everything, but we had fun!

This should be no surprise - Kam has been playing Little Rebel Basketball. He absolutely loves it. And he has been a real trooper, having to miss 3 out of 6 games while supporting his big brother and sister at their games on conflicting Saturdays. But they are undefeated and having a blast.

And yes, he made this shot!

Now this one may be a shocker... And no, his father is not a big fan. But Kamren is also taking a hip-hop dance class currently. He loves to shake his bootie and his friends' sister teaches it, so the two of them and one more boy are in the class. The review is the first of May so I will make sure everyone gets an invite!

Lastly, and he said no photos of this one... He is in on the couch and has thrown up three times so far this morning (***UPDATE*** four times) - the joys of motherhood~~~

School is going well for him (when he is there!?!)- his favorite subject is history and he is reading on a 6.6 grade level right now. He reads non-stop and loves it. His latest series are Warriors, Rangers Apprentice, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.  He has over 250 AR points already.  Tomorrow night is our Ward Ski Nite and Coach Lundgren is going to teach him how to board - if he gets feeling better.

I love ya, pal!

I'm B A C K !!!

Ry guy helped me get some snow shoes for Christmas and today I decided to break them out...

What a workout!  I thought I would just try them out for kicks and pretty soon found myself "going around the block"... Remember the size of my block?  I thought I was going to die before I got back home.

A friend who is majorly into snow shoeing said REAL snow shoers don't walk on groomed trails - they make their own trails.  Guess what? I am happy to just be a wanna-be-snow-shoer and follow in some one elses tracks!  Happy Trackin'!
P.S. - But it couldn't have been a more beautiful day to get out and enjoy the snow - we got over a foot of new snow this weekend and today was GORGEOUS!
