This is a "bet ya can't beat that" post. This last week we put over 1,000 miles on the Tahoe. It is all a blur now but it went something like this: Thursday night Kayden played football in Star Valley, which is about 100 miles away (for those of you slow ones, that's 200 round trip). After freezing our behinders off, we returned home and got up the next morning and left by 8:00 am for a little meander to Monticello, UT for another football game. Game was at 7:00 and finished just before 9:00. That leg was 402 miles one way (stay with me now - 804 round trip). Back in the car and up to Price to "bed down" for the night at 1:00 am. Back up at 7:00 am so we could leave by 8:00 am to return to Randolph (home of the REBELS) so Shani could play a couple of matches of volleyball. Still not worn out so we re-entered the Tahoe (most were kicking and screaming by this time, including me) so we could run home, change in to dress-up clothes and go to Logan (another mere 42 miles) for Ned's sister Gayes son Nolans wedding reception. Yes, that adds another 84 miles round trip. Then back to home sweet home... Let me add that mileage up for you:200 + 804 + 84 = 1,088 miles. Don't bother timesing that out to find out the $$ amount spent on gas - it would FRIGHTEN you. Oh, the things we do for kids/family... But I wouldn't have it any other way. The time to sit in the ol' rockin' chair and wonder where life went is coming way too fast. FIND JOY IN THE JOURNEY!

Okay all you blogger-nerds... Got another question. I want to add a place on my blog where I can put the scrap pages I have done or crafty things, etc. So I want the current one to show, but then be a link to where all the other ones are stored. Possible? And feel free to email me if the answer gets lengthy. Or better yet, just DO IT for me! :) Yes, I am blog-challenged, but at least I will admit it!

Watch out below!

How funny is this? Just found it while looking back through some summer pictures. It was taken at the Logan pool while the Lofthouses' were invading us.

okay - I totally give up. What do you have to do to get the photos UNDER the text? AUGHHHHHH! And when I put a pic in, then text, then another pic = the last pic goes to the top. WHICH IS NOT WHERE I WANT IT!!! So feel free to make me feel stupid and tell me what I am doing wrong. I am off to school board but expect lots of answers when I get home tonight. PS : thanks for the help!

Okay - I am getting really frustrated with this site, but I will try this ONE MORE TIME! I had to delete some stuff cuz I didnt like the layout and could not get it to edit. But it went something like this: You can tell how much a person likes a holiday by the amount of decorating they do in and around their homes. So the other night I decided to get our Halloween decorations out - what do ya think? If you left click on the pic, you can almost make it out.

So now I want to add another pic below this one...

JK - this is what my house really looks like this year:

And another thing as long as I am rambling... You know my post a month ago about digging up the raspberries to plant corn next year? Well, I am now COMPLETELY sold on the idea. Yesterday Ned and I went into Lee's grocery shopping and I saw they had bundles of corn stalks for $4.99 a piece - and there was about 6 stalks total per bundle... BEAT THAT! I could become a millionaire just off of corn stalks. And yes, I shall remember all of you in my will.

What's up with that? I went to Logan today and YOU GUYS did not have any of this white, fluffy stuff on your roses... NOT FAIR! Wanna come build a snowman? :)

"I was walking down the street one day..."

While out on my almost-daily walk a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a couple of black cows up ahead of me in the area of Harbor Village. I couldn't remember of seeing them there before, but thought nothing of it. A couple blocks later, I looked up at them again and lo and behold, it was a MOOSE! I hurried and called Ned (my knight in shining armor...) and begged him to bring my camera to me. We circled around them and got some pretty cool pics. Channel 2 even showed one of them on the news one night. Anyway, that is what I love about livin' in this place.

Change of Seasons...

How sad is this picture? I am NOT, I repeat, NOT, ready to give up the sandals for socks and shoes. Is it REALLY going to snow tomorrow? I love the change of seasons, but fall has not lasted long enough. Any one out there agree with me?

Change of Harvest...

Okay folks - this is it... Fresh off the press... Ned and I have done some soul-searching and have decided after re-evaluating our summer crops, that we are much better at raising corn than raspberries - as you can see in the photo above. Why waste time raising little tiny raspberries when we can serve up husky cobs like this? So we have just finished plowing up the raspberries (3 acres total) and plowed up another 8 acres in front of the house. As soon as the threat of frost is over next spring (about mid-July) we would appreciate all the help you can give us to get the corn crop in. Stay tuned for more information!
